David M. Shaffer (08/17/53 - 09/03/2004) was a multiple woodwind player, composer and arranger. He studied oboe at San Diego State University, the University of Redlands and the University of Arizona. Performing credits include principal oboe with the symphony orchestras based in Redlands, Riverside and San Bernardino, Califormia, as well as playing multiple woodwinds for many national touring Broadway shows and musical reviews. He has composed and arranged music for concert band, orchestra, chamber ensemble, jazz combo and big band.

We lost David on September 3, 2004 to complications from chemotherapy for mantle cell lymphoma. All proceeds from the sale of his compositions and arrangements will go to the David M. Shaffer Music Fund.
